Gestalt Language Processing

Gestalt language processing (GLP) describes a pattern of language development in which a child learns language in whole chunks or phrases first, later breaking those chunks down into flexible, self-generated language. It is a described pattern, not a formal diagnosis, and is often discussed alongside echolalia.
