Contributor guidelines

Write for DrSensory

We publish evidence-based content on therapy and development for children and adults, reviewed where possible by a named clinician. We’re looking for licensed clinicians and specialists to contribute.

1 · Who we’re looking for

Licensed clinicians and specialists — practitioners writing within their own scope.

We’d particularly like to hear from you if you practice in:

  • Speech-language pathology
  • Pelvic health
  • Hand therapy
  • Oncology rehabilitation
  • Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
  • Mental health

We also welcome pitches in occupational therapy, physical therapy, geriatrics, sports rehabilitation, pain, and dental and oral development.

2 · What we publish

Original, evidence-based, and written for a general audience — not for clinicians.

Please read our content standards before pitching. They cover how we handle evidence, sourcing, and language, and they’ll tell you quickly whether we’re a fit.

In short:

  • Claims about what works are sourced, and we check citations before publishing
  • We don’t publish statistics we can’t trace to a primary source
  • Where the evidence is weak or contested, we say so
  • Goals and outcomes are described in functional terms, not clinical abstractions
  • We use identity-first language for autism, and community-preferred language elsewhere

3 · What we don’t publish

  • Unsourced claims
  • Content that overstates the evidence
  • Anything about a specific identifiable patient

4 · What you get

Editorial support — we edit for clarity and consistency, and we’ll come back to you with anything we’d change substantively.

Distribution to the site’s readership.

Contributed articles are clearly marked as contributed, and are presented distinctly from our editorial content.

Nothing is charged unless you choose to pay now.

6 · What happens next

We read every submission and respond within 14 business days.

If it’s a fit, we’ll come back with editorial guidance and a timeline. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you — we’d rather say no clearly than leave you waiting.

Fees and terms for contributed placements

Contributed placements carry a fee, confirmed with you before anything is scheduled — $120 for a contributed article, $40 for a link added to an existing article. Nothing is charged at the pitch stage.

Every outbound link in contributed content is published with rel="sponsored", and the article is labeled as contributed at the top. That is a condition of publication, not a negotiation.

Fees are non-refundable once the agreed edits are approved and the piece is published.
