Monotropism

Monotropism is a theory of autistic and ADHD attention: the mind tends to focus intensely on a few interests or channels at a time — an “attention tunnel” — rather than spreading attention thinly across many. Developed by autistic researchers, it offers a single framework for deep focus, difficulty switching tasks, and sensory overload.
