W-Sitting
W-sitting is a floor-sitting position in which a child sits with their bottom between their legs and feet out to the sides, so the legs form a W. Despite common advice to discourage it, systematic-review evidence found no link to hip dysplasia or harm in typically developing children. It can occasionally be a signal of low core strength worth assessing.
